Meet the Artist
Penny Ramsay
It all started in June 2022 when I sat down at my father’s old scroll saw and cut out my first pattern: a rainbow. Crafting has always been a part of my life; I spent years watching my father create beautiful wooden art pieces with his saw. After discovering some talented artists on Instagram making stunning wooden 3D signs, I knew I had to try it myself—and I was instantly hooked! My passion flourished as I experimented with different techniques and absorbed countless tips from my favorite makers, especially my Dad.
In September 2022, I launched my business, creating signs and art with my own scroll say from my home workshop in Miscouche.
As for the name "Hoodle Haddles," it holds a special place in my heart. Growing up next to my grandparents, my grandfather would tease us with the phrase, “What do you want for your (birthday, Christmas, Easter, etc), a hoodle haddle?” He never explained what it meant, no matter how many times we asked! My Dad continued the tradition with his grandchildren as well. This cherished memory became the perfect inspiration for my business name.
This isn’t just a hobby or side hustle for me; it’s my full-time job! I still have so much to learn, but I’m enjoying every moment. Thank you for being part of my journey!
