Intarsia

Intarsia is a wood inlaying technique that uses a variety of wood species to achieve different colours required to complete the design. Each indiviual piece of wood is cut out on the scroll saw, shaped and sanded before being fit into place to create the beautiful pieces you see here.

My Dad has been working in intarsia for 25+ years and has a particular interest in pieces involving animals and nature. These photos are some of the pieces he has completed recently.

When I attend markets I have a few of his pieces with me and I occasionally feature some of his work on my Socials as well.
